Article about Bitcoin scaling
A long and interesting read/opinion on the issues facing Bitcoin. This is such a tough one, the price rise for Bitcoin this year has been incredible, but the scaling issues are not going away.
The author really does outline well the potential nightmare scenarios as different groups try to fork the code.
I am changing my view all the time. Over the last two months, I have reduced my Bitcoin portfolio by half and done well by investing in altcoins such as Komodo, Syscoin and Digibyte. I am now seriously considering liquidating the rest of my Bitcoin portfolio.
I see two options:
- Straight flip of my remaining BTC to Ethereum
- As I already hold a nice amount of Ethereum, I flip my BTC for more Dash, Monero, Litecoin, Nem, Stratis and Factom, etc...
If BTC does crash then this could hurt, but equally, there could be a successful fork, and the price of BTC could fly.
Even if BTC does crash, it would likely take down other coins with it.
I think I am going to ride the rest of the month out and see where we are. I will, of course, keep you updated as to what I may do.
